Sanibel Captiva
We are a group of women interested in supporting the Sanibel Captiva community.
We come from all walks of life and varying financial backgrounds. As individuals, it is challenging to make a meaningful impact in our community, but as a group, we have the ability to contribute to its growth in ways we never before thought possible.
Our Mission
Our mission is to reach out and help our community with more than 100 women each pledging to contribute $100 three times a year to our local community. Organizations being considered for distribution of these funds must be on Sanibel or Captiva, a nonprofit 501(c)3 with a mission to build community bridges rather than sow division. The goal is to keep it local and have an impact that WE can SEE in our communities.
This group is perfect for you if:
You want to help those in need in our community
You want 100% of your donations to go directly to a nonprofit and are interested in learning about new nonprofits
You want to be part of a powerful group of women who make an immediate, direct and positive impact on those in need
You want the opportunity to present a local nonprofit of choice to a large group of caring women
Any member of the 100+ WWC Sanibel Captiva giving circle may drop her name into the bag at each meeting with the hopes of being one of three drawn to present her nonprofit. Each of the three giving circle members has 5 minutes to convince us that her nonprofit is the one that should receive our donation. We listen, we vote and we each write a personal check for $100 to the charity receiving the most votes. The hidden advantage to our giving circle is the nonprofit receives this donation without spending a minute of time or any money fundraising. If we reach our goal of 100+ women, this means after a meeting the winning candidate will receive a check for $10,000. And we do this in one hour!

Ready to Get Involved?
To keep a connection with past recipients, each is invited to a meeting to share with us how our donation is, or has been, used.
Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings. No need to call ahead, just come on by! If you would like to become a giving member, please fill out the commitment form or pick up one at the meeting. We will meet on the first Tuesday of the month beginning in February 2025!

We so appreciate your desire to donate to our group outside of our regular meeting!
We meet 3 times a year (February through April) and our members write their donation checks directly to that meeting’s chosen non-profit.
The Charitable Foundation of the Islands is a public grant-making charity and has established a community grantmaking fund called the Good Neighbor Project. Gifts to support community grants can be made to CFI, restricted to the Good Neighbor Project, Women’s Giving Circle.
